Keukenhoff!!

Keukenhof : April 9th :

When Dhanu had once sent the photos of Kuekenhoff , I was wondering what it was , until one day i opened and saw the photos , my GOD it was mind blowing , all I could think was the song from Anniyan movie .. Kumari.. my favourite number and yes I had a desire to go there.

It was my luck that I landed in Brussels in summer and thats when the Tulips grow , between March and May.

My husband had already seen it last year and this year he wanted to take me there. So we headed off to Tulip land. Its just a 2 hour journey in train from Brussels Nord to Den Hag HS Staition and from there to Leiden Central again through train and then take Bus No 54 to Tulip place.


We landed in Kuekenhoff in just 3 hours. We had decided to go cycling and hence bid bye to his friend and his wife who had come.

We rented two cycles and started riding like two lovers and yes we held hands and were dam steady.


The weather was perfect and hence we started off with the map and rode along the line 3 , we reached the first field whcih was full of purple flowers . Then headed back ward to the place full of yello flowers and orange bulbs , then we reached a land where it was full of red Tulip, that was awesome and the hilly region was a perfect picture.

Then we headed a long way , saw purple flowers and pink flowers and took lots of photos , then I was dam hungry and yes we found a superb small caravan shop , where a gril was mouth watering fires and both of us had two separate medium fries packet and ate to our hearts content and started back again. We saw few more fields back on our way and took photos and went back to the cylce stand and returned our cylces , one cycle's rent is 8.50 Euro per day.


We then , walked straight into the flower garden and saw the numerous flowers and its different varieties and different colours. It had dark pink , normal pink and light pink.

We also saw double coloured ones , purple and white , orange and red, yellow and white.

Few tulips are pakka bulbs , few are like roses , few are like long leaves. I dont have more words to explain....

Only the purple leaves give a awesome fragrance , not others..

We took lots of photos , ate the Swirl ice cream , which was jus fabulous and saw the wind mill within the garden , saw a few fields from far off distance.

We even saw a picture of Statue of Liberty being depicted with the Tulips , which was splendid.

We then got a few sovereigns and came back and got the bus back to Leiden Central.

But instead of getting the train to Den Hag HS , we got the train to Den Hag Central , hence we switched into another train from the Den Hag Central to Den Hag HS and atlast caught our train back to home.

Reached home sweet and home and with the pleasant memories of flowers still alive.
