Hmm.. This was a trip that we went long back , but I dint write it down immediately .. now may be I have forgotten what we did too!!
Hans Cave has the same feature as Dinant Cave but it was exciting and a bit different . We took the train to Jemelle and from their got bus no 29 and reached the Caves.
The village around the cave was very beautiful , it had plenty small restaurants. The tickets to the caves vary according to the activities we prefer. The super combo costs 19,50 euros. We had a Cappucino with creme and the got into the toy train that took us to the caves. The weather started to become cold as we entered the caves. There was a guide who translated the description of the caves into English for us , my French knowledge here was not sufficient.. rather out of syllabus :) .
Few points from the guide:
1. The limestone deposits are formed due to the rain water dripping into the caves. The rain water that drips might be hundreds of years old. The water drips into caves after traveling around the hundred years on the caves walls.
2. The stones are not even shakeable.
3. The deposits are of various shapes like the Pisa tower, curtain drapes and what not!
In the end of the cave , a river flows and previously(2 years back ) , the tourists were allowed to be taken on a boat on the river. But now we just walked across the bridge over the river.
Then came the best part, there was a lighting show with noises that was performed. It reminded me of Golconda or the Musical fountain in KRS. It was splendid. The guide made the caved pitch dark and just threw lights here and there with noises . No use in me explaining it, should be seen!
Then we came out of the caves and the scenery there was super picturesque. We clicked a couple of photos and off we went to the game called Spellogame. It was a different way to explain the cave formation. It was a 4 D game and it reminded me of the game in San diego Sea World.
We had a handle attached to our seats and we just to move it here and there to play the games and score points. It was simple but hands pain! It is said that the river that flows in the caves was considered sacred and lot of valuable items were thrown into it by the people. There was a museum to display the findings which I felt was just a waste!
Then we had lunch , it was veg out of a non-veg burger. Ha ha! We just threw the meat of the burger and ate the rest!
Then came the most interesting thing. The Safari ride. We all hopped into the toy train once more and off we went into the forest kind area to look into all sorts of animals. I tell you , I have not heard most of their names before. The animals were just allowed to wander here and there and the fence was built much distance apart. The train stopped before the house of each animal and we had a proper view.We saw boars, antlers, fox.. i dont remember the names.. but I have the detail list though! The ride was exciting.
After that it was shopping for some cute dolls there and then hopped into the bus back to Jemelle and reached Brussels very smoothly!
